Seminyak's beachside nightlife thoroughfare has become better known since it was coined the 'Double Six' area, where all the after-sunset action starts. Serious clubbing and party-going blend along this namesake vicinity of the pioneering beachfront Double Six Club.

The nightlife boulevard is an ever-growing assortment of a partygoers' playground. Following its success was the Paparazzi Lounge, which saw its debut in 2004. And now the most recent addition to the area is Bacio, opening its doors to the party crazed last month.

This latest addition had its soft opening on Indonesia's Independence Day of August 17, and saw its Grand Opening a week later. The music, cocktail, wine and fine gourmet tapas venue is situated directly on an oceanfront space on Bali's famous beach north of Legian, also commonly known as Blue Ocean. The crowd was also treated to a selection of Bacio's fine gourmet tapas and beverages, while DJ Niina served up the beats to support the ambiance.

With two DJ booths, an upstairs VIP members-only lounge, a catwalk and a retractable skylight designed by Espace Concepts Architects, Bacio has set out to become Bali's luxury nightlife destination for residents and locals, affluent tourists and expatriates alike who are looking for entertainment in a safe, classy atmosphere. Bacio's Executive Chef presents gourmet tapas with a Mediterranean flavor, using fresh produce, meats and fish to create exquisite flavors with visually pleasing presentations. Sweet tapas and cheese platters highlight the menu, as part of the food service that is available nightly until 1am with pre-selected wines and shot glass soups to "clear your palette and take you to the next tapas course."

This exciting new club is perfect for fashion shows or private celebrations, and has been specifically created for select party people who enjoy a luxurious lifestyle. Bacio presents regular events on their agenda that include a special 'every' Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, featuring music by various resident DJs.

It's always a good idea to keep a constant lookout for what's happening every week at this new hotspot. For example, last month's events saw one dedicated to the cigar aficionado community, a 'babes and bubbles' ladies night out featuring music by DJ Niina, DJ Nolly and DJ Mistral with a 50% discount for the ladies, a night of flavors of tempting cocktails and delicious tapas with the accompaniment of beats by DJ Jonny, and last but not least 'Bacio Fever' during last month's Saturdays, dubbed 'confessions on the dance floor', which hit Bacio with music by DJ Alfan, DJ Ivan and DJ Mikey.

There is a slight difference as compared to the other venues that are mostly suited for the beach type singlet and flip-flops, which tells it apart from the target audience that Bacio has in its sights, and that is "no thongs, sandals, shorts or singlets. Dress smart and elegant." Such is this new venue's subtitle of 'ambience, music and bites.' Bacio is open daily except Sundays from 7pm to 2.30am.
