Recently launched last month in Kerobokan is the family-oriented villa hotel Vivalavi Villas & Spa. Consisting of six two-bedroom villas, Vivalavi ('viva la vi' being French for 'long live life') combines the privacy and tranquility of a secluded boutique hotel with the convenience and excitement of a vibrant vacation resort.

Sharing the area with the small settlement of Puri Prisklia on Jalan Mertasari in the northern portion of Kerobokan, the boutique resort has two access points.

A small western alley leads into its garden restaurant and saltwater swimming pool and another from the east, accesses via the Puri Priskila gateway that intertwines through local homes and in to its spa building.

Vivalavi Spa boasts a fitness center on the first floor and a flight of stairs leads to the spa above. From here the friendly spa reception staff is ready to greet you as they present you with a treatment menu as you are seated in the coziness – departing from the hubbub of the outside and the Kerobokan traffic that you may have experienced in getting there beforehand.

Vivalavi Spa offers a wide range of treatments, from traditional Balinese massage, aromatherapy and warm stone therapy to slimming treatments, pampering for couples and brides to be and the excellent Cleopatra's Milk Ritual. The skilled therapists guide you through an oasis of tranquility while inviting a state of wellbeing and beauty with holistic treatments combining traditional and temporary techniques.

The resort has committed to the use of sustainable products throughout its operations, and Vivalavi's respect for the environment is portrayed in the use of top quality and 100% natural spa products. Two treatment rooms are available, one dedicated for couples and complete with a bathtub.

The range of massage treatments to choose from include Traditional Balinese Massage, an hour which lets you relax while skilled therapists relieve tension and stimulate the blood flow using a choice of specialty essential oils, and Aromatherapy Massage combining stretching, acupressure and facial massage. Being a family resort, the spa also includes a Children's Balinese Massage in its menu.

For an ultimate relaxation session, the 3-hour Vivalavi Ritual Spa incorporates a Balinese massage, body scrub and mask, and facial and flower bath.

Vivalavi Spices and Herb concludes with a spices body scrub, aroma massage and a spice bath. Packages range from 1.5 hours to 3 hours with rates ranging from Rp 300,000 to Rp 550,000 (subject to tax and service charge). The Spa is open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily.

After your treatment, try out the organic juice bar to finish off the experience and leave 'Vivalavi vivacious'. ■
